Melissa Coleman, HAIR STYLIST

From a young age I’ve always been creative. Raised by a family of artists, I was always encouraged to express myself in a creative way - and through the years, my own hair styles have reflected this way of thinking.

 

I believe that no matter how bad things get, the best way to change yourself inside is to change your outside - and a fantastic haircut does just that. It’s no accident that I eventually become a hair stylist. After high school I put my own creative ambitions on hold while I raised my two sons alone. Yet, the desire to work with hair continued to call to me.

 

Finally in 2009, I became a licensed cosmetologist with a concentration in makeup and studio hair styling. I immediately followed my passion through the ins and outs of the beauty industry before discovering my passion as a freelance hair stylist. I've found I really enjoy combining my hair styling skills with formal occasions - from weddings to modern dance performances to photo shoots to burlesque performances.
